Sustainable Sauces’ Mission

At Sustainable Sauces, our mission is to rescue perfectly edible fruits and vegetables that would otherwise be wasted due to cosmetic imperfections or retail surplus, and transform them into gourmet sauces, chutneys, and compotes. Each product we create is a testament to the belief that food deserves a second chance, and that preserving taste can go hand-in-hand with preserving the planet.

Reduce waste

Food waste is a staggering issue in the UK, with nearly 40% of produce never reaching consumers. We aim to partner directly with local British farmers to purchase this “imperfect” produce and convert it into quality condiments to impress guests or simply add a little something extra to an everyday meal.

Support local farming

Our roots are personal. Founder and chef Matthew Henman grew up on a family farm, learning the value of fresh produce and the satisfaction of turning a seed into a nourishing meal.

In addition to reducing waste, we also want to support growers with fair payment for crops that would have otherwise gone unsold. This helps sustain farming livelihoods in an industry increasingly strained by rising costs, unpredictable weather, and immense pressure - both economic and emotional.
